Fostering Difference

Pet foster parents are an important step in animal rescue. They care for a homeless pet as if he or she was their own until they are adopted.

Making a Difference

Fostering an Animal

What is Fostering?

Fostering is when a person or family takes an animal into their home. It is a crucial aspect of care that allows the animal to learn how to co-exist with others peacefully and happily. It allows the animals to receive love, care, and even some training in a calm and relaxing environment. Those who foster do not take on any financial responsibility for the animals they bring into their home. The rescue provides all medical, food, and supplies! You will need to be able to take the animal to and from appointments and adoption events.

How Long is an Animal in Foster Care?

There is no set answer for this because it constantly varies. The animal would need to be able to be in foster care until adoption. If there are known trips that the animal must be watched during, we are happy to discuss and work with you on that!

Bringing an Animal for Fostering

Do you have an animal outside our program that you would like to foster? While we are often at capacity, if we can, we would like to help. Fill out our Intake Request Form. Happy Hounds will connect with you on what the next steps are.
