Millie

Foster Care

This poor mama has been through such traumatic experiences the last few months, potentially even more! Millie was found in the brush on the side of the road, homeless and definitely pregnant.

Millie came to us the day before she had her babies. It was almost as if she waited until she landed somewhere safe, and then chose to deliver her babies once she knew they would be protected from all the predators being strays would lend them to.

After Millie was saved and her babies were born, they all were happy and healthy, for awhile that is… Millie began limping a bit and when we took her to the vet, we were told there was nothing to worry about. With time, it was predicted to improve. Instead, it got worse… Additionally, we noticed Millie seemed to be in pain by her tail. When we took a look, we were shocked that a gruesome infection or terrible injury seem to have occurred to her already nub sized tail. We rushed her to the vet. Now, Millie has had her tail amputation and is undergoing treatment still trying to prevent additional surgeries

Mickey

Mickey

Foster Care

Mickey has had quite the journey, and it has not been an easy one. He was on euthanasia at a crowded local shelter after being accused of “chasing” people. We couldn’t let that happen and he joined our rescue. 🐾 We quickly realized this poor soul had been through some major trauma. Slowly, he is learning what human love is, to play, and trust. 🐕While we are on the mend of his emotional scars. We now have another hurdle.

Mickey’s heart is full of heartworms. ❤️‍🩹We need your help to fully heal Mickey’s heart. He will get a total of 3 injections for his heartworm treatment. It is a long treatment process, but he deserves a healthy life full of love and devotion.

Clover & Kittens

Meet Clover and her kittens. This precious family had a difficult journey with some making it and some we had to say “good-bye” to.

Clover and her kittens Petal, Posey, Reed, and Oakley came to us extremely ill from a local shelter. They were suffering from upper respiratory infections, Panleukopenia, and Coccidia. Clover ended up being hospitalized for several days at our vet clinic. Posey was hospitalized for a week at Neel’s Hospital. The entire family was getting fluids, injections, medications, and being syringe fed for weeks at their foster home. Despite our best efforts precious Posey and Petal crossed the rainbow bridge. We continued to fight for Clover, Reed, and Oakley and they luckily rebounded. All three of them have found their forever homes and are living their best lives now!

Daisy

Daisy

Adoptable

Miss Daisy was found to have a bump on her paw. It was not healing with antibiotics, and we had to figure out what it was. So, we had it removed and biopsied. Luckily, it was nothing major and everything came back great! It turns out, it was just a bump from her playing to hard and causing some trauma to her little foot. Now, she is all healed up, healthy, and ready for her forever home.

Lou

Lou

Adoptable

Lou came to us from a local shelter and sadly was heartworm positive. This completely preventable disease was eating away at Lou’s energy and slowing down his adoption process. We quickly had to intervene! Lou was started on antibiotics for a month and afterward received his heartworm treatment. Now, his heart is healthy and healed! It just needs his forever person to keep it full of love.

Merry

Adoptable

Sometimes situations we cannot control take place. While in her foster him little Merry was in an altercation with the foster’s other two dogs. The door hadn’t shut well and they hadn’t had time to adjust to one another. Merry was rushed to the emergency vet and underwent surgery to close up all her extensive wounds. Luckily, they were manageable with suture, staples, pain medication, and antibiotics. Merry is all healed up now and still the biggest cuddle bug around! She does have a lot of fear with other dogs and is needing to be an only dog home.

Sweet Pea

Sweet Pea

Adopted

Meet Sweet Pea. Born under an office building, his stray mom sheltered him and his siblings in the parking lot. Sweet Pea, lively and playful, faced adversity when an injury struck – a damaged leg and a torn tail. Rescued by a compassionate office couple, they hoped to spay and release him, but the city shelter had other plans – Sweet Pea ended up on the euthanasia list. In a desperate plea for help, the couple reached out. Happy Hounds stepped in, tagging Sweet Pea for rescue. Collaborating with the couple, they arranged fostering. Surgery followed, bidding farewell to the damaged leg. Ear mites and worms received attention too. Through recovery, the couple fell head over heels for Sweet Pea. Adoption became inevitable. Despite challenges, Sweet Pea embraced his new life, radiating sweetness with his feline friends and even tolerating a giant yellow lab. In a short span, he transformed, cherishing every scratch and embodying his sweet name.

Max

Max

Adoptable

Little Max sure does live his life to the MAX. Enough, that he played so hard and ended up breaking his leg. The injury was extensive and more than what shelter he was with could handle. So, Max joined our program. Quickly, we set Max up for surgery on his injured leg. Sadly, it ended up having to be amputated. That didn’t slow this little guy down. He quickly recovered and has been playing and enjoying his life like every pup should!
