Happy Hounds Animal Rescue Foundation is an Oklahoma City-based 501c3 nonprofit organization. We are a group of volunteers who rescue, foster, and help place cats and dogs in fur-ever-loving homes.

Our story
How it all started
Meet Happy Hounds, the brainchild of President Steven Hess, dedicated to being a haven for shelter animals and rescues. Picture this: pop-up events at thrilling locations where furry friends and rescues unite for a paw-sitively good time, all aimed at finding them loving homes. Steven’s stellar events were a smashing success. So many animals found fur-ever happy homes.
But wait, there’s more tail-wagging excitement! In 2023, a light bulb moment struck – Happy Hounds could spread even more joy. With the Oklahoma metro needing extra furry heroes, Happy Hounds Animal Rescue rallied a fantastic board of directors, submitted the paperwork, and voila! By July 2023, they snagged the 501c3 approval, kicking off their mission to save lives faster than you can say “fetch!”
