We will never forget Smokey’s time in our program. Why? Well, Smokey was not only the dog but the first animal we had in our foster program! This big boy was the BIGGEST teddy bear. He was found alone on the side of the road with no shelter, food, or water. We quickly brought him in and began the process of searching for his owners. Despite our communication with other rescues, shelters, public outreaches, and even check for a microchip, which he did not have, we could not find his previous family. We went ahead and got Smokey all vetted while we waited and after his stray hold was up, he fully joined our program. Smokey never got the chance to join as at an adoption event though. Why? His fosters fell head over heels in love with him and it seemed the feeling was mutual! Smokey was officially adopted by his foster family and is living the best couch potato life and is completely spoiled rotten!
